The culmination of Churchill's Boer War narrative in South Africa that began with LONDON TO LADYSMITH, including the triumphant liberation of his former-POW campmates in Pretoria.

Description: This is a very good copy of the First English edition. The binding is tight and the red cloth bright, though there is a ridge of dampstaining along the far edges of both front and rear faces. The spine is unfaded. The contents are fine, with a former-owner name blind-stamped on the black front free endpaper. The prelims are very faintly foxed and there is a charming ink inscription on the half-title: "From one of ‘Those Anglo-Indians' 25-6/00."
