Description: Bound from sheets for the legendary "Centenary Edition" of Churchill's Collected Works, published in 1974 on what would have been Churchill's 100th birthday, this volume reprints the rarest of Churchill's works, MR. BRODRICK'S ARMY and FOR FREE TRADE, together with LIBERALISM AND THE SOCIAL PROBLEM and INDIA. The 38-volume "Centenary Edition" was originally issued in full-white vellum bindings as a deluxe limited edition set comprising of every book-length Churchill title, together with four volumes that constituted Churchill's complete essays,. Only 1,750 of the intended 3,000 sets, however, were ever actually bound. Years later, a team of Churchill book dealers located the unbound remaining sheets and bound them in various styles, including full-burgundy cloth. This is one volume from that effort, in virtually mint condition.
