Description: This is a very good copy, in the rare dust jacket, of the Fourth Impression of the First English "Trade" Edition of this elegant, large-format literary anthology, published under the auspices of the Prince of Wales. Contributors included P.G. Wodehouse, Paul Nash, Muirhead Bone and Winston Churchill, whose appreciation of Earl Haig appears on page 21.
Laid-in here is a typed note stating: "Admiral Sir Lionel Halsey acknowledges with thanks your response to his appeal for H.R. H. The Prince of Wales's 'The Legion Book'." Also laid-in is an envelope addressed to Sir Lionel Halsey, as well as a handsome broadsheet advertising The Legion Book.,br. The unclipped dust jacket is bright and unfaded. It is backed with some sort of stiff transparent adhesive plastic for preservation. The top edge is worn, the corners have losses, and there are significant losses from the bottom of the spine and front face. The contents are fine.
