Description: Notable novel of a young soldier in World War I and the events that lead to his court martial and execution. This is a very good copy of the Fifth English edition, in an unclipped dust jacket that is bright and clean, save for a faint stain below the author's name on the spine. The book is immaculate; unfaded, with bright gilt. The contents are fine, with only faint foxing to the fore-edges and a small bookseller plate on the rear pastedown.
A beautiful copy and highly collectable, given that Churchill's introduction did not appear until the Third edition.
