THE TURN OF THE TIDE

A History of the War Years Based on the Diaries of Field Marshall Lord Alanbrooke, Chief of the Imperial General Staff

$50.00

By: Arthur Bryant
Date: 1957
Published: Doubleday and Company [New York]
Size (Details): 8vo (624 pages; index, maps, foreword)
Binding: Hardcover (with Dust Jacket) [Beige cloth]

Category: Books About Winston Churchill
From: Churchill at Chartwell
Item Number: 203137

Description: The first volume of Bryant's highly expurgated two-volume abridgment of Allenbrooke's notoriously indiscreet war diaries. This is a very good copy of the First American edition, in a price-clipped dust jacket that has faded a bit at the spine and exhibits some shelfwear. Alanbrooke's name has been written in ink near the spine head. The contents are fine, with a bookplate on the front free endpaper and an owner address sticker on the half-title.
